Just thought some of you may be interested in going to the Woman’s World Show, I’ve been before and it’s a great girls day out.
You can get free tickets for the show here :))
Let me know if you go and what you thought?
Yet another Irish skin care brand, Bia Beauty. I’m telling ye I can’t keep up with all these great Irish businesses popping up :) It’s great!!
A little about Bia Beauty: Founded by Herbal Scientist Tracey Ryan in Cork all Bia Beauty products are 100% natural and any emulsifiers and preservatives used are plant-based. Tracey does not test anything on animals either.
The tagline for Bia Beauty is ”Feed your skin” isn’t that beautiful? Your skin absorbs a whopping 60% of what you put on your skin so it really is best that the ingredients are natural!
I was lucky enough to get to try out her Orange & Grapefruit Cleanser & Exfoliator.
Another Irish brand for ye today, Human + Kind. I have to say the Irish skin care industry are coming out with some amazing brands/products these days!
Anyway I love body oils, I find them more moisturizing for my skin as they absorb really easily into the skin.
Human + Kind’s Body oil is an all in one meaning it’s a multitasker you can use it everywhere even for your hair to keep the ends healthy and conditioned.
Yes I know I’m back with another glittery post haha! But you know how I love to support Irish Businesses and Stickcons is just that. I was sent these to try out and I just love them! I glitzed up mine and my daughters trainers.
What do you think? I live these and think they are a really fun activity for kids to customise their shoes (I found it quite fun too) and I like how happy my shoes look when I catch a glimpse of them :p
I didn’t know until I heard from a friend in Irish Parenting Blogs Group on Facebook that there was a world meningitis day, 2013 will be it’s 5th year running.
To be honest I didn’t think Meningitis was still a big thing/risk because we have vaccines. Well I was very wrong so I’m writing this post we can all learn more about this disease.
Last week I was invited along to a LowLow event along with some other bloggers. We weren’t really sure what to expect. When we got there, there was lots of yummy food made by Tara Quirke
Then when we were all sitting down with some wine and Sile Seoige and Lucy Kennedy came over to chat. They were so lovely! They told us they would love us to join in the conversation when it started.
Mothers Day is on Sunday, wow, that flew in!? I put together some nice gift ideas, most of the below are Irish too ;)
The Irish Beauty Show is held every year in the RDS Dublin and boy do I love this show so much!! It’s every beauty lovers dream place to shop ;) Lots of great brands and businesses and of corse discounts/bargains and pampering to be had too! I also love finding new brands to try out at this show too.
I met some other lovely Irish beauty bloggers there too, Karen & Joanne from LovelyGirlieBits, Sue from CherrySueDointheDo & Nina from NinasBeautyBargains. So it was nice to have a catch up with them over a coffee.
Well I just wanted to show you what I bought and I’ll be doing reviews on them all which I’m looking forward to over the next few weeks :D
The fabulous Marissa Carter (she’s Irish too by the way;) ) owner of Carter Beauty in Blackrock is now also the proud owner and developer of the new 1 Hour Tan Cocoa Brown. Out only a month I can see this tan being HUGE next year!
I met Marissa at the Christmas Beauty Bloggers Event last Saturday, she was so sweet and gave a speech on her tan and how she developed it. I was very impressed by her hands on approach throughout the development of Cocoa Brown Tan, like she said ‘‘I wanted a tan that I would be proud to stand over” And that she can!
Marissa also explained how she has Psorisosis so she wanted a tan that would be gentle which is why it has half the alcohol (needed for drying so your not standing there freezing your butt off waiting for it to dry!) that most other tans use. Therefore, Cocoa Brown is more gentle than other tans :)
The reason why Cocoa Brown has no dog biscuit smell (yes really, not eve a hint!!) and develops so quick is because of a special ingredient Marissa chose. This special ingredient pulls the DHA (this is what makes the melanin in your skin activate) down into the layers of the skin quickly leaving it no chance to oxidize (this causes that horrible smell) and gets to work faster on those lovely melanin cells to make us golden brown. Now there is a smell…….but it’s lovely fresh floral scent Tahitian Gardenia to be exact. I can’t tell you how gorgeous it smells, I couldn’t stop sniffing it haha, I wish you could get a perfume with this scent…next product in the Carter Beauty Range maybe!?? ;)
OK so my verdict….I love this stuff! Especially for busy mums this is a life saver for when your rushing to go somehwere or want a quick fix to feel good! I usually have my shower in the evening so when I’ve used this I’ve put it on in the afternoon and then it’s ready to wash off in the evening, how handy is that!
You can leave it on for 1 hour for a light tan, 2 hours for medium and 3 hours for a deep bronzed glow. I go with the 3 hours ;) I’m quite tanned already but deffo need a top up in the winter as I tend to look quite pale and pasty without the sun! I also applied this to my face, and I looked less pale without any make up on :)
It’s also a mouse so is very easy to apply and it glides on like silk. Cocoa brown has a mitt too and I’D always recommend a mitt with tanning, it just means your less likely to get streaks and it goes on even too
The final result of my tan was a very natural sun kissed tan so I’m very pleased. Best part is that Cocoa Brown is only €7.99 and is in most pharmacies, believe it or not but this has only been on shelves the past 3 weeks and it’s doing very well from what I hear. I will definitely be buying this tan again because it’s quick, suits me and certainly won’t make you feel guilty at such a great price.
Have you tried this new 1 Hour Tan yet? Or will you try it? Let me know if you do, would love to hear what other people think
Also want to know why the tan is in a pink bottle? Well, Marissa didn’t go for the mainstream brown bottle commonly associated with tan, she wanted something different and pretty for a womans dresser. Marissa told us she would line up all her mothers empty cosmetic bottle and jars on her dresses. And even as we all get older I think girls love to have their room nice so why not have a cool pink bottle of tan on your dresses! Here’s mine hehe!

A little bit about TanOrganic
I definitely give this tan 10/10. I was sceptical it wouldn’t work as well as others because it was natural but it didn’t leave any streaks, no dry patches which I usually get with other tans and it fades nicely. I was left with a lovely glow to my skin and it made my stretch marks less noticeable. I even dared to put some on my face and you wouldn’t even notice, it just covered the redness I get on my cheeks so didn’t need foundation for a few days :)) I’ve used it about 5 times all over my whole body and the bottle is not even half gone yet! So a little goes a long way.
They have a very good video here on applying false tan, great tips so I’d recommend everyone watch it
The OilArganic is also a lovely moisturizer, it’s a dry oil so not greasy like you would think, again this is made with 100% natural ingredients and its main ingredient is argan oil so I even used it on the ends of my hair and eyelashes lol It’s a bit pricey for me now being honest as I go through a lot of moisturizer on my body and this is almost gone :(
But I would recommend them both highly, both great products esp the tan and they are so good for your skin. Havve any of you tried TanOrganic before? What did you think of it??
