Just thought some of you may be interested in going to the Woman’s World Show, I’ve been before and it’s a great girls day out.
You can get free tickets for the show here :))
Let me know if you go and what you thought?
Have you all heard of GlamGlow yet? I have been hearing a lot of rave reviews about this face mask for months now. Believe it or not this mud mask was first used all over backstage Hollywood so actors they would be camera ready instantly! Then in 2011 it was available for retail. Fans of GlamGlow include Beyoncé, Miley Cyrus and most recently even Michael Bublé loves this mask
Sorry I know I’m very very late posting this. Mothers day was ages ago here in Ireland but it’s coming up in America so I thought better late than never ;)
I got this gorgeous L’Occitane En Provence Lavender Collection gift set for Mothers Day from the kids!
I just had to blog about it because the packaging is so pretty and I was new to their products…..so far I’m really loving them. A bit pricey for me but they are on my radar next time I’m looking for a pretty gift for someone or want to treat myself ;)
The lavender in all the products is really fragrant too and the hand cream smell lingers for ages afterwards! I can’t even pick a fave out of the set, just trust me they are all beautiful products if you ever want to treat yourself or a friend. And I’m still thinking of what to use the pretty box for…..makeup most likely though!
I didn’t know until I heard from a friend in Irish Parenting Blogs Group on Facebook that there was a world meningitis day, 2013 will be it’s 5th year running.
To be honest I didn’t think Meningitis was still a big thing/risk because we have vaccines. Well I was very wrong so I’m writing this post we can all learn more about this disease.
Last week I was invited along to a LowLow event along with some other bloggers. We weren’t really sure what to expect. When we got there, there was lots of yummy food made by Tara Quirke
Then when we were all sitting down with some wine and Sile Seoige and Lucy Kennedy came over to chat. They were so lovely! They told us they would love us to join in the conversation when it started.
Today is International Womens Day, theme this year is A Promise is a Promise: Time for Action to End Violence Against Women. It’s to highlight the hardships, unequal treatment, unnecessary suffering and violence against women in all parts of the worlds simply because we are women It’s also a day to highlight & celebrate the achievements , quality, strength, respect & the deserved equal rights of women everywhere.
Then today I see this ad in my local Northside People paper. I just looked at it in disgust and shock!! Is it really 2013 or are we back to the 1920’s when women were to be seen and not heard and it was practically forced for you to give up your job when you got married?
Mothers Day is on Sunday, wow, that flew in!? I put together some nice gift ideas, most of the below are Irish too ;)
The Irish Beauty Show is held every year in the RDS Dublin and boy do I love this show so much!! It’s every beauty lovers dream place to shop ;) Lots of great brands and businesses and of corse discounts/bargains and pampering to be had too! I also love finding new brands to try out at this show too.
I met some other lovely Irish beauty bloggers there too, Karen & Joanne from LovelyGirlieBits, Sue from CherrySueDointheDo & Nina from NinasBeautyBargains. So it was nice to have a catch up with them over a coffee.
Well I just wanted to show you what I bought and I’ll be doing reviews on them all which I’m looking forward to over the next few weeks :D
OK hands up if you didn’t know this either?! Did everyone know this was the was your meant to take out cotton pads? I used to just take them out from the top where the draw string was. It was only when I was sitting down taking nail polish off that I seen the dotted lines to cut the pack at the bottom that it then clicked with me haha, and then I hung it up by the string……..and TA-DA you have your own cotton pad dispenser!! Very handy instead of struggling to get just one out of the pack and then they all come out!
Weather you’re into Valentines Day or not every girl loves pampering lotions and potions. Pixy do just that and are an Irish company too :)
I was kindly given these products from Pixy to try as part of their new Valentine’s gifts, aren’t they just so pretty!
The Bath Oil contains Sweet Almond Oil and Vitamin E so it’s incredibly moisturising and my skin felt silky smooth after my bath. I was worried I would feel really oily as I don’t think I’ve tried a bath oil before but as I say my skin just felt so conditioned.
It also has glitter, my favourite :) so this is a lovely touch too, make sure to shake it before you put some in your bath.
You only need 2 tea-spoons of this and wow, the smell (water lillies) when you come back into the bathroom after leaving the bath to run is so beautiful, very relaxing. The water will also have a hue of blue to it, cool huh!!?
This is €9.95 and well worth it, a little goes a long way and when it’s all gone the love heart-shaped bottle will be going into my craft room to be jazzed up and make a pretty decoration!
The Soap is also nice, I just love the 3-D design on it. This contains cocoa butter which is a favourite of mine as it’s so moiturising. This soap is fine to use on all skin types, even people with eczema and dermatitis believe it or not.
It also has Macadamia Nut Oil packed in their too which contains fatty acids and B vitamins (learn something new everyday) to keep skin soft and hydrated and protects skin cells from deterioration………..me likey!! See it’s not just a pretty soap ;)
The soap costs €5.49
I also love this massage bar with aduki beans, gonna get this for my bf give him a nice Valentine’s back massage as he has bad muscle pain, so I think this would be nice for a massage to knead sore muscles, I may get one in return too lol ;)
You can buy these products and more from Pixy Natural’s website, there are loads of other beautiful gifts and gift sets.
They have free delivery on all orders over €10 to celebrate their new Valentine’s collection
Hint for you girls: Send this post on to you other half haha! ;)
So I was looking EVERYWHERE for a diary with a month to month view. Most diaries are week-to-week view but I was delighted when I finally found this gorgeous Cath Kidston Diary. Preeeetty!
See isn’t it brilliant, yeh you prob all think I’m crazy now, getting excited over a diary lol , but I love to feel all organised and I find it easier to remember when I see and write things down haha! I think it’s so handy to see your whole month planned out on two open pages :)
Well I for one am glad to see the back of 2012. One of my 2012 resolutions was to be more positive and relaxed, I stuck to it and felt so happy, things were going great and I was getting over the anger of some stuff that happened to me a few years ago (you can read about that Here) till a few months ago when something bad happened to me, something I wouldn’t wish on any woman. Sometimes I feel like bad luck follows me!? It’s still too hard to talk about and I don’t know if 2013 is gonna be any better, it looks like it’s going to be a battle for the truth to be heard. But to be honest I’ve kind of got over the my anger over the lies that have been told, so long as I know I’m telling the truth I don’t care if others won’t even listen to my side let alone believe me.
So here are some of my resolutions:
trust myself more, I always doubt myself and second guess myself, I have to stop that
relax, stay calm and stop worrying and stressing over people and what they think, if they don’t belive or trust you they are definitely not worth your time
Eat better and exercise more often, I’m just feeling crap from not looking after my body
Live each day as it comes
Get a tattoo (here’s some of my ideas on my Pinterest board)
And keep blogging :)
Just have to say I’m very happy I started my blog, I’m very proud of it since it’s only 4 months old. I’ve met so many wonderful and inspirational people and blogging has been keeping my mind off things, it’s my way of relaxing
Here’s some nice quotes to get us motivated and looking forward to 2013
Wishing you all a very HAPPY 2013. Would love to know your resolutions? :D

I’ve been shopping…..again!! Did the last of my Christmas shopping yesterday yiiiipppeeee! And have most things wrapped, I love wrapping presents I must say, I find it relaxing :)
I didn’t plan on buying as much as I did yesterday, but on the way something brought up more hurt and anger of a horrible thing that I’m going through at the moment and basically I vented all my anger into shopping, weird I know haha!
I bought loads and loads of stuff in Pennys/Primark, Deals, Pumpkin Patch, H&M, HMV and well practically every shop in Blanch!!! Not all for me though, bought clothes and presents for the kids, the BF and friends :) But here’s my favourite thing I bought for myself yesterday from New Look!
If you read my blog you prob know I looooove leopard print!! Don’t think I’ll ever tire of it lol! I normally wouldn’t have got these as they were €30 but they were on sale and HALF PRICE!! So I bagged them for just €15! Whooo!
Also got these cute earings for under €3
New Look had loads of shoes and clothes half price so if you’re doing a bit more shopping I’d head there :)

Well I’m sure most of you know by now that I love Dealz, they have everything from beauty to homeware all at unbeatable prices (most things are all €1.49) So I applied to be a Dealz ambassador to show you their great selection and now I am yippeeee :)
I will be doing more Hauls over the next year and show you all the fabulous deals you can get.
I went in for some Christmas bits and bobs last week. I got 21 items (and some had 2-3 items in each if you know what I mean) all for under €31!! As always I’m amazed at the amount of things I got and the quality too, it may be cheap but not cheap on quality. Also the staff are always very friendly and helpful in Dealz Blanchardstown. The store is always well stocked up and nice spacious isles so it’s easy to get around and find what you’re looking for
Take a look
Beautiful 3 pack of wrapping paper for just €1.49 such good value isn’t it? I’m planning on using the 3-d decorations on some handmade cards :)
Glitter whooo! I’m like a magpie with Christmas decorations lol! My daughter actually came up with the idea to double the tree clip as a hair clip, I think it’s really cute!
Me and glitter are best friends so you can imagine my happiness when I seen this cute red glitter christmas tree (yes I am a glitter-a-holic) perfect little decorations for the table as are the candle holders.
I actually bought the Allura beauty set for myself haha! Handy set to have in the handbag during the Christmas season. The tweezers is AMAZING girls!!!! As good as the ones I pay €10 for, no joke! It’s slanted and gives a great grip on the hairs your plucking.
I will deffo be buying a few more for my handbag, car etc! The nail files with it are also very handy and super cute. And I just love the jewellry stand..again these were all just €1.49 each!
You could get a ton of stocking fillers for just €10
With Christmas being sometimes quite stressfull Radox Unwind bath soak is a must have for me, €1.49 for this big bottle is amazing!. Also the good old Nair for people who hate waxing llike myself.
The highlighter does a pretty good job for the cheekbones too. Brush isn’t great with it but you just use your fingers or a concealer/foundation brush anyway
Not only are the cookies in these cartoon characters tins yummy, but the tins will do for storage of other sweets or toys when empty or hang the lids on the wall and you have budget friendly kids room decor!! :P
Cute lil fella isn’t he? They also have a hanging snowman and Santa :)
I needed a serving tray for the cookies and biscuits eaten over christmas. The embossing on the tray is a really nice touch. You can’t have enough non stick roasting pans when making Christmas dinner either.
Now for your chance to win a €20 voucher, simply….
1) Follow my blog through wordpress or sign up by email>>>>over there! Also if you want to stop by the Dealz Ireland Facebook page and say hi!
2) Leave a comment that you’ve subscribed and maybe tell me a nice bargain you’ve got from Dealz recently :)

It’s being said by The Sun newspaper that Yes, Child Benefit will be cut by €10 for the 1st two children. Meaning a family with 2 kids will be down €20 a month. It may be nothing to some but that’s €20 off the gas bill, money for the coal to keep the house warm, money for a pack of nappies and baby formula. All these things add up when you have one child or more.Add on top of that school books, raffle tickets outings etc etc
I think it’s so unfair when they said just last month in the children’s referendum that they have the children’s best interest in mind and children should have a voice. What about the children who will be saying ”mammy I’m cold” well sorry kid but we have to make more cutbacks so no more heating on, half an hour a day max from now on!! Or sorry you can’t have more chicken, this will have to do for tomorrows dinner too.
Are these children’s voices going to be heard…no the government wont listen. Hey once their kids have food and warmth and money to bring them to the cinema every week sure it’s all grand!
I think the child benefit should be means tested, and I don’t mean taking it from parents who are both working but still struggling (childcare cost a bomb!!) I mean the likes of say Bono or Micheal O’Leary just for example..do they really NEED it? Will they struggle to pay the rent and gas bill without it…no I don’t think so.
And for people saying well don’t have children if you can’t afford them. Nobody knew how badly our government would handle this recession and bail banks out with our money. Nobody knew they would lose their jobs or not be able to get dole if they were once self-employed but the business failed.
Rant over….let me know your thoughts in the comments please
Hellloooo!:) I’m in a great mood because I was at one of Jackie Mooney’s workshops yesterday, her Christmas one :)) I rarely get to go but when I do I have such a great time between the chats, coffee, cakes (Dee!!) and making stunning cards I have such a great day!
Jackie’s classes are just brilliant! She is (in my eyes anyway) the most talented paper crafter out there. She’s such an inspiration, every month her cards are amazing, I don’t know how she does it.
I started card making as a New Years Resolution back in 2011 as I wanted to start a new hobby and make new friends. I’ve since loved card making and made some life-long friends :)) I’m so glad I found Jackie’s workshops. They are held in Dublin every month.
Here’s what we made this month
What do you think? :) Have you tried card making/paper crafting before?
You can see Jackie’s blog here and see more info on her workshops held every month in Dublin here (you’ll also see better pictures of the cards we made lol!) If you’re thinking of starting a new hobby or trying something new for the New Year I highly recommend you try card making, you won’t be sorry :)

I love to buy Irish and support Irish businesses, it’s all we can do in this economy, help each other out! :) So here is part one, please take a look and consider them when you are buying for any occasion, help support your country
A new little Irish business based in Leitrim. They make beautiful handmade keepsakes all of which can be personalised.
My fave has to be the frames where you can choose your own design and colour combos (even glitter!!) and she can even add photos for you.
Like Tiny Treasure on Facebook or follow on Twitter to see more of Gaynor’s lovely creations.
You may have seen Samantha with her brilliant idea on Dragons Den. Launched in October 2011 Funky Goddess has gone from strength to strength. The name represents a strong and powerful woman, I love that! They make gift boxes their main one being ”The Welcome to Womanhood gift box” It’s a lovely way to prepare your daughter/niece etc for that big milestone and give her a gift and make her feel special.
The box comes with:
Hot Water Bottle
For anyone with a little girl or even big girl, you’ll love Jessie’s headbands based in Wexford. I’ve bought some for my daughter and they are great quality and so adorable. Known for their quirky little salt dough sheep (I have a little piggy of theirs in my Kitchen hehe) Curragh Cuties are based in Kildare and as they say they are the epitome of handmade and unique gifts, founded in 2011 by two lovely women Lynda and Celine I can vouch for them personally that they are both very crafty women ;) Again I love that they will personalise your gift making them a great present for a new baby or house-warming gift. I think their gift baskets are great value too, they each come with something handmade and a few other goodies (see below). You can see more of their work and products on their website or you can follow them on Facebook and Twitter.
Located in Westmeath, Wooden Ireland Gifts are all for supporting local, local jobs and nothing is imported from abroad! Great pieces of work as you can see that can all be customised and personalised. These guys could make you anything you want out of wood, just ask!
My fave is the little coat stands, they do them for creches etc, but I think they would be very cute in a little boy or girls bedroom. I know my little girl have more coats and cardigans than the queen at this stage haha! Check out Wooden Gifts Ireland on Facebook
